Restom® DKPANT 4031 – Professional Paint Stripper for Light Alloys, Rims & Underbody Protection
When paint, clear coat, epoxy or bituminous protective layers need to come off, trial and error is expensive. Restom® DKPANT 4031 is a powerful paint stripper that removes most paints, lacquers and coatings – while being particularly gentle on metals. The key advantage: aluminium and aluminium alloys are not blackened and the product is non-aggressive towards metals. Perfect for use on light alloy rims, body parts and anywhere where "powerful" must not mean "damaging".
Suitable for these paint types & coatings
- Body paints: polyurethane, glycerol/alkyd, cellulose and others
- Industrial/specialist paints: including epoxy (depending on layer structure and number of coats)
- Bitumen/underbody protection (e.g. Blackson®) – easy removal without a blowtorch
- Tank interior coatings (low-quality products or incorrectly applied resins) – after stripping/decapage procedure

Application (practical)
- Application: with a brush; for tank interiors also possible by pouring/flooding.
- Contact time: from a few minutes to several hours – depending on paint type, layer thickness and number of coats.
Note: For tank interiors, stripping may take considerably longer depending on the coating structure (in extreme cases several days). - Removal: afterwards scrape off or rinse directly with water (depending on substrate/requirement).
Important notes (material compatibility)
- Plastic: apply for a maximum of 2 hours and monitor regularly.
- Underbody protection/bitumen: due to the often high layer thickness, plan for sufficient quantity.
Consumption / recommended quantity
- General: 1 can of 750 ml for approx. 1.5 to 2.5 m².
- Underbody protection (Blackson®) for a medium-sized car: approx. 1 to 2 litres.
Recommendation for removing tank interior coatings
- Up to 25 L tank volume: 1 × 750 ml
- Up to 70 L tank volume: 2 × 750 ml
- Over 70 L tank volume: 3 × 750 ml
