Restom® Kit Alu – The Complete Solution for Cracked & Porous Aluminium Tanks
Restom® Kit Alu is the complete treatment for cracked or porous aluminium tanks – the result is guaranteed for at least 20 years.
Properties
- Suitable for Diesel, SP95, SP98, Avgas and SP95-E10
- Guaranteed free from polyester resin, polyurethane and solvents – for optimum durability
Kit contents
- Restom SDT 4060 – degreaser for thoroughly removing greasy residues (fuel, soldering flux, etc.) from aluminium
- Restom EIR 2000 – resin/hardener set
- Detailed instructions for use
Application
The instructions supplied with the kit are similar to those for our other tank kits and provide all the necessary details for correct use of the products.
If a treatment is already present
If Restom EIR 2000 is already present but was poorly applied (detachment) or has suffered an impact (crack): strip it with Restom DKPANT 4031 following the stripping procedure, then treat with Restom Kit Alu.
If any treatment OTHER than Restom EIR 2000 is present, prior stripping is mandatory. Restom DKPANT 4031 removes most existing coatings (e.g. the original BMW red coating), but may be ineffective in certain cases. We offer a free stripping test on coating samples sent to us by post.
Tip
Don't forget our flexible plugs for the fuel inlets and outlets of your tank.
⚠ Important warning
During the degreasing phase with Restom SDT 4060, do NOT seal the tank airtight – avoid pressure build-up. Risk of deformation!
