Restom® KitPoly – The Complete Solution for Polyester, Carbon and Synthetic Resin Tanks
Restom® KitPoly is the complete treatment for fibreglass and synthetic resin tanks – whether the tank has previously contained fuel or not. Thanks to a thin resin layer applied evenly across the entire inner surface, your tank is permanently protected.
This complete kit thoroughly cleans the tank and stops the formation of paint blisters caused by fuel migration through the tank wall that has become porous.
⚠ Not suitable for flexible polypropylene or polyethylene tanks: off-road motorcycles after 1980, newer vehicle tanks.
Properties
- Suitable for tanks made of polyester, carbon, vinylester, ABS, polyamide and epoxy
- Typical for Spanish, Italian and some Japanese motorcycles before 1980 (Martin, Roca shells etc.)
- Also suitable for custom tanks in buggies, off-road vehicles, rally cars and light aviation
- Fuel compatible: Diesel, SP95, SP98, Avgas 100LL, GNR and SP95-E10
- ⚠ Not suitable for flexible PP/PE tanks (off-road motorcycles after 1980, modern vehicle tanks)

Application
The product is distributed by simply rotating the tank around its own axis – no special tools required, easy and safe to use.
If a treatment is already present
If the tank already has a coating (e.g. original sealant, other resins or peeling paint), this must first be removed using Restom DKPANT 4031. Please contact us for the recommended procedure.
Important notes & recommendations
- If the tank volume is close to the maximum capacity of a kit, we recommend the next size up – polyester tends to absorb more resin.
- For tanks with internal partitions, also choose the next size up.
- For light aviation tanks, please consult us before purchase – some tanks already contain a soft pre-treatment that must be removed first.
- New polyester tanks: do not use EIR 2000 alone – always use the complete KitPoly including degreaser.
