Which kit do I need for my tank?
That depends on the material: steel, copper, brass → SuperKit 3-in-1 · aluminium → Kit Alu · GRP, carbon, polyester → Kit Poly. Choose the size according to the tank capacity.
How do I seal a motorcycle tank step by step?
- Empty the tank completely.
- Degrease with SDT 4060.
- Derust with PAC 2030: pour in, swirl, leave to act for approx. 1–4 hours depending on the degree of rust.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Dry completely (e.g. with a hair dryer or heat gun).
- Mix EIR 2000, pour in, distribute evenly, drain off the excess.
- Touch-dry after approx. 24 hours, can be refilled after approx. 7 days.

Is the sealer E10-resistant?
Yes. The Restom® tank sealer is resistant to petrol, super plus, E10, E85, diesel and avgas.
How long does a tank sealing last?
With careful preparation and normal use, permanently. What matters is complete degreasing and derusting and wetting all internal surfaces without gaps. Incomplete drying or preparation shortens the service life considerably.
My tank has been coated before – what now?
Old coatings must be removed before the new sealing. Get in touch – we'll tell you the right procedure or do it in our workshop.
Which tanks is the sealer not suitable for?
It is not suitable for flexible plastic tanks made of polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP), as fitted e.g. on modern enduros and cars from approx. 1980. The SuperKit is also not intended for stainless steel tanks.

Can I have my tank restored by you?
Yes – we restore tanks for motorcycles, classic cars, youngtimers, tractors and lawnmowers in our own workshop. Tanks can be sent in from all over Germany and Austria. All information and prices: Tank service.
Can a cracked tank be repaired?
Cracks in steel tanks can be repaired in many cases and then sealed – provided the tank is still structurally sound. Send us photos and we'll tell you honestly whether the repair is worthwhile.
