Want the classic wrinkle look for your engine, valve cover or dashboard? Restom® Grainée 9120 creates a robust, grainy texture – well known from Harley-Davidson, BMW, Ferrari and Maserati.
- ✔ Original textured look in fine or coarse grain
- ✔ Heat resistant up to 180 °C
- ✔ Once heated resistant to oil and fuel
- ✔ Protects against corrosion and mechanical stress
- ✔ In black or red – as a tin for the spray gun or as an aerosol (fine grain)
Which parts?
Engine housings, valve covers, intake manifolds, dashboards (e.g. MG, R8), brake drums – not for cylinders and cylinder heads (use KPM 6000 THT for those).
How to use – tin (spray gun)
- Apply with a spray gun: 3.5–4.5 bar, nozzle approx. 1.2 mm, 10–20 % Diluant 5020.
- Let parts that are not heated air-dry (48–72 h at 20 °C) – or bake for 2 h at 120 °C.
- Engine parts cure through engine heat.
How to use – aerosol
- Degrease the surface thoroughly, e.g. with Motornet, and prime appropriately.
- Shake the can vigorously for 2 minutes.
- Spray from approx. 20 cm in an even motion – 2 to 4 thin coats a few minutes apart.
The aerosol is only available in fine grain. The shade may differ slightly from the tin version.
Coverage
Tin: approx. 6 m² per litre and coat with a spray gun – a 500 ml tin covers approx. 3 m². Brush application is not recommended (uneven grain).
Aerosol: approx. 2 m² per 400 ml can for one coat.
